UNravel Quiz

Lyceum, the postgraduate students’ association of the Department of International Studies, Political Science and History, CHRIST (Deemed to University) successfully conducted UNravel, an online quiz competition to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the United Nations. The event was held on 11th January from 2 to 4 pm. The competition consisted of three rounds. The preliminary round witnessed participation from 30 teams of two students. The top six teams then moved on to the second round which was conducted on the Webex platform. The competition had a unique catch—the teams were given the names of cities. The teams that took part in the second round were Team Berlin, Tokyo, Helsinki, Stockholm, Nairobi and Rio. The participants were required to keep their cameras switched on in order to maintain the integrity of the quiz competition. The top four teams from the second round carried over their marks and moved onto the final round. Team Berlin, Tokyo, Rio and Nairobi moved onto the final round. The final round was a thrilling round which had negative marking and time limit. In the final round, Team Berlin consisting of Rahul Preman and Azin Matthew sailed away from their closest competitors with a huge lead of 65 points to the second place. 
The Quiz Masters for the competition were Anuroop Tantry from 6HEP and Anirudh Bharadwaj from 6EPS. Hanspreet Kaur and Seerat Arora from 2 MAIS were the MCs for the valedictory ceremony. Dr Fr Jose CC, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) delivered his observations and concluding remarks along with Dr Madhumati Deshpande, Coordinator, Department of International Studies, Political Science and History. Dr Deshpande in her remarks lauded the organising committee headed by Dr Stefy Joseph, faculty coordinator along with Aswathy Anil and Harsimaran Singh Sondhi student coordinators, Lyceum for organising a well ordered and an exciting quiz competition. Nishit Jogi of 4 MAIS delivered the vote of thanks.
The winners of the competition:

  1. Team Berlin: Rahul Preman and Ajin Matthew (2 HEP). Prize Money: Rs. 1500/-
  2. Team Rio: Dincy Adlakha and Avinash Kumar (2 MAIS). Prize Money Rs. 1000/-
  3. Team Tokyo: D Manisha and Ankit Jha (4 MSW-HR) Prize Money Rs. 500/-
